Your Medicare Part A:

Medicare Part A coverage includes inpatient hospital, skilled nursing facilities, hospice care, inpatient rehab, and some home health care services. About 98 percent of Medicare beneficiaries have no Part A premium because they have the required 40 quarters of Medicare-covered employment, which is determined by the Social Security Administration. Qualifying employment can be based on your employment, the employment of a spouse, or other qualifying family member.

When beneficiaries have an inpatient stay, they will pay $1,676 per benefit period, which is up $44 per stay from $1,632 in 2024. If Medicare beneficiaries stay in the hospital beyond 60 days, days 61-90 will be $419 per day. If Medicare beneficiaries stay beyond 90 days, they have 60 lifetime reserve days that will cost $838 per day. When beneficiaries are in skilled nursing facilities, there is a daily coinsurance for days 21 through 100 of extended care services in a benefit period, which will be $209.50 per day in 2025 (up from $204 per day in 2024).

Your Medicare Part B:

Medicare Part B coverage includes physician services, outpatient hospital services, some home health services, durable medical equipment, and some other medical and health services that are not covered by Medicare Part A. In 2025, Medicare Part B beneficiaries will pay a monthly Medicare Part B premium of $185, which is an increase of $10.30 from $174.70 in 2024. In 2025, the annual deductible for all Medicare Part B beneficiaries will be $257, which is an increase of $17 from the annual deductible of $240 in 2024. Medicare Part B premium, deductible, and co-insurance rates are determined per the provisions of the Social Security Act.
